Desire-related
Desire: Any kind of want, whim, wish, or craving.
Want: A sincere desire. They want to go home, for that is where their heart is.
Whim: A frivolous desire, with no consequence to being unfulfilled. I could have contently stayed ashore, but on a whim I boarded the vessel.
Craving: A nagging desire. Craving chocolate but wanting to stick to their diet, they eat some dates to abate the craving.
Urge: A compulsive desire. They cannot resist the urge to blink.
Will: Motivation toward something, which poetically may not involve desire but some other force. The captive’s willpower is strong enough to resist the will of its captor, who after many long hours gives up trying to extract information.
Integrity: Steadfastness in holding oneself to one’s values.
Nobility: High moral character; high integrity.
